Lawn Dethatching

Thatch is a layer of living and dead grass shoots, stems, and roots that form between the green grass blades and the soil surface. Excessive thatch can lead to increased pest and disease problems and reduce the amount of oxygen and moisture that are able to reach the soil and grass roots. Lawn dethatching removes this thick layer of decaying plant material so air, water, nutrients, and fertilizer can reach the soil better, plus your lawn can drain more effectively.

Lawn Core Aeration

Everyone knows the signs of a recently aerated lawn. Small, uniform plugs of soil can be seen at turf level, often exposing the different layers of soil below. Aerating your lawn has numerous benefits, including:

  • Loosens compacted soil
  • Breaks up thatch
  • Improves water and nutrient infiltration
  • Increases oxygen to roots
  • Encourgaes new, deeper root growth
  • Reduces water and runoff

Lawn Over-Seeding

Over-seeding is done in fall along with core aeration. Lawn over-seeding is mainly applied to thin lawns but also to healthier established lawns to ensure thick proper growth. Over-seeding can fill in problem areas and rejuvenate a weary lawn.

Seasonal Accents

At Perfecturf Lawn Care, there are many ways to extend the impact of color from spring through fall, even into winter. We create a delightful arrangement of color using flowers, such as bulbs, annuals and perennials in your plant beds. We use decorative containers loaded with spring and summer annuals; in fall – colorful mums. Pine boughs, spruces, curly willow and red twig dogwood can add a splash of color during winter.
